Why would you ask to be induced or for a c-section?

I was just reading another question about asking your Doctor to induce, and was very surprised by some of the responses. In my opinion asking to be induced or to have a c-section is a little reckless! If there is no need for medical intervention or told to do so under Doctors orders, Why mess with mother nature? I was induced (due to preeclampsia) and was in labor for 36 hours in pain every moment of it! I wish I could have gone into labor naturally! What do you ladies think???? Would you ask to be induced or have a c-section for your own reasons????
